During my trip to the American West, I saw very different landscapes: the palm trees and city life of Los Angeles, then the national parks with their red-orange rocks in Utah, Arizona, Colorado, and Nevada. What struck me most was that as I moved from one state to another, nature changed, and so did my photographic style.
In Wyoming, Yellowstone and Grand Teton, my gaze turned to mountain landscapes that were sometimes surreal, with bears by the roadside.
