NYC in the spring

April - May 2024

I dreamed of New York for years before finally setting foot there. First, on Google Street View, getting lost in the streets of Manhattan, then in films and books, and with my architect father, for whom this city is an open-air museum. This first trip was three weeks in the spring, most of it spent alone, on a small budget and wanting to take my time.

I took my camera everywhere. I walked for long periods, my head in the clouds, ate deli sandwiches sitting on a staircase or in a park, and that's where I discovered street photography: passersby, facades, the little scenes of everyday life. What interests me isn't the postcard image, it's the city as I saw it, step by step, with an open heart.
